The Red Cross

Now a word about donating blood. Currently a person may donate blood but he may not be compensated (paid) for doing it. I understand platelets can be donated for a dollar but not blood plasma. And I say NO way, Moray. Sure it’s often said to be life saving. Most blood today is used in elective surgery and billed to the patient. But the donor cannot get a dime. When the man begins to pay cold hard cash for my blood then I will consider donating. My second objection is that I hate being stuck by needles. My research has shown cases where infections have occurred as a result of donating blood. Of coursee the final consideration is for my religion that does not alloww it.
